Collective Unconcious Performance Space New York, NY 1999
In this performance I was inside of a bed frame, wrapped in strips of sheet fabric with text written on it. On the wall a video was projected of me laying on a bed, my body coated with a liquid Iron supplement. The video was in slow motion and had very little movement. The image had horizontal scan lines passing slowly through it, seeming like pages of a book turning. In addition sound was present in the room, abstract experimental, soothing, physical sounds. In this performance I needed a second person so R. Winborn participated as my assistant. During the performance she carefully cut the stripes of fabric I was wrapped in and then pinned them to the wall revealing the text. The text was mostly from Fortune Cookies and statements about hope, faith and trust I had written.
